So here at World of Blyton we have some exciting news. There is going to be a new Blyton fan in my household as I will be having a baby in the summer. I’m already thinking of all the great books I can read him or her, and which (if any) Blytonish names I can sneak onto the suggestions list.
We are both hoping that we can continue the blog as it is at the moment, especially as I hope to start writing extra content now to schedule later on when I’ve got my hands full with a baby. Anyway, that’s a while off yet so here’s what we’re writing this week:
Congratulations, Fiona :). That’s wonderful news indeed!!! Hope all goes well for you and the baby.
If I ever would have had a daughter, I’d called her Georgina, because I like the sound of it. It’s still my favorite name for a girl 50 years later even though George Kirrin didn’t like her first name at all.

Ewan’s mum’s name is Georgina so I think it’s too soon to reuse that, even if she does go by Gina.

Altough we never met and I only know you as Blyton fan, allow me to say: Congratulations Fiona, great news! And who knows, a new Blyton fan will be born…

I hope you’ll only read the original text/old versions to your child and rather explain that things were handled differently way back then when these books were published. That way he/she will get a better understanding for history and how things have changed compared with the past.

I think it will have to be a mixture of both. While I want to share my original editions with him or her I suspect I will end up with some newer and less fragile ones too so that they can look at them on their own.

The most wonderful news! Give the baby three Christian names and he / she will have a choice.
Many regards.

Picking one name is hard enough, never mind three!
