Fairy Seeds – A poem by Enid Blyton

One day I bought from an elf
A packet of Teddy-Bear seeds,
They were just like little brown beads,
And I planted them all myself.

The sun shone down from the sky
And made the little seeds grow;
They all came up in a row,
And when they were just so high
They opened their buds of green
And there in a layer of down
Were Teddy-Bears, furry and brown,
The tiniest ever I’d seen!

It’s no wonder that everyone stares
When I go to school every day,
For they see, as I go on my way,
That I carry a bunch of my bears!
